I am exhausted.
And I just spilled Diet Coke all over myself and the couch.
See, this is one of the problems of owning your own business. I really would like to take a personal day tomorrow, take Rory shopping in the morning then spend the afternoon snuggling on the couch with endless cups of coffee, order a pizza for dinner and just relax. But unfortunately, there's no such thing as a personal day when you are your own boss. You suck it up and go.
Last year when I was pregnant with Rory, I made sure everything was done EARLY. I mailed my taxes on March 15. I sent in the t-shirt orders on April 1, not May 1. Notes went out early. Everything was done pre-emptively because I was so afraid I'd forget something and not get it done in time. This year? Ugh. I feel like I am running in circles and getting nowhere. My head is constantly foggy and no matter what I do, each day there are a million things that didn't get accomplished. For example, the dishes needed done today. My laundry and Rory's laundry needed washed and hung to dry. (In the basement, of course. haha) I needed to enter tuition and I needed to email 3 important emails out to various groups of students. Those things did not get crossed off the to-do list. Instead they get added to tomorrow's already a million mile long list. Unless of course I take the morning off and go shopping with Rory...
I would. I'd do it in a heartbeat but then I have to weigh and measure whether or not I'll feel too guilty doing that. So much needs done, but...
I am listless and tired. Thank goodness tomorrow is Thursday.

Hey, it's not Thursday, it's Friday Eve! :-) Yay for the weekend coming up, then you can definitely get all of your to-do's crossed off! Hang in there :-)
Hey Kate... the book I'm reading (Today Matters) has a chapter on priorities and I thought it had some awesome advice. (Not that I think you have your priorities off at all!) It said to make a list of the things you need to get done, then number them in order of importance. Work on number one and only number one until it is done. Then move on to number two. Concentrate on one thing at a time.
You will get more done that way and you will get the most important things done. I've been doing it just with things in my day and around the house and I find that it helps me concentrate on the current most important task and I am accomplishing more things more quickly because I am not distracted. I'm able to follow projects through to completion.
If you want more info on all the advice let me know. I can always read you have a chapter over the phone or something haha.
