As you all know, I own my own dance studio. It's stressful, exciting, challenging, and never the same twice. I am also a Christian woman. I think anyone who's been around here before knows that! I've recently been working on strengthening my faith and my reliance on God. I've always struggled with worrying way too much about things and never being able to give my concerns over to the Lord without snatching that right back. I'm working, I'm changing, I'm becoming a better mom, wife, business owner and Christian through out this journey.
What I'm asking is this...I'm looking for prayer partners to help me cover my studio in prayer this season. Registration is in two weeks and I want to take these next 15 days to pray for every facet of the studio. I want my studio to be a beacon of goodness and Light in a town that is desperate. There's so much sadness in the forest right now, we just lost a soldier in the war this week. I've had two students hospitalized for major health concerns, one lost vision in her left eye entirely. It's just been a long, hard summer for us and we need to start this year off on the right foot.
Here's my prayer requests for the next 15 days...
July 24, 2011:Job 21:11...And they send forth their little ones like a flock and their children dance.
Today we pray for the students that are returning to Studio K, that they will come with an open mind, an excited heart and a desire to learn, share and experience all that we have prepared for this year.
Monday, July 252 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might!
Today we pray for new students who are coming to Studio K for the first time. We pray that the decision will be ease for the students and the parents, that they will have peace of mind and heart for deciding to dance.
Tuesday, July 261 Chronicles 16:9 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Today we pray in thankfulness for all of the blessings we've received in the last six years. We are so grateful for the opportunities, the students, the creativity and the never ending supply of support and love. We praise the Lord!
Wednesday, July 27Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.
Today we pray for our teachers and assistants that they will be able to convey what they want the students to learn clearly and with kindness. Help us remember that mistakes happen and are merely a step in the path of learning. Help us remember not every student wants to be a professional and at the end of the day, love and laughter is much more important.
Thursday, July 28Today we pray that our words in class and in the studio will be pleasing and honoring to the Lord. Guard our tongues and help us speak in kindness to and of our students, staff and families.
Friday, July 291 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Let all our actions and performances be done so that others can see that our abilities and talents come from the Lord. Without the Lord, who would have set our feet dancing?!
Saturday, July 30Psalm 30:11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
We pray today for all the parents of our dancers. Help them to see that we want to provide support, laughter and happiness to their children. Help them to know that Studio K is a safe place.
Sunday, July 31Proverbs 14:14 The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good man rewarded for his.
Today we humbly pray for financial blessing and freedom from worry. All good things come from the Lord and we are relying on the Lord to send us enough students to not have to worry about finances through out these economic times. Help us trust in the Lord to provide all our needs and not worry.
Monday, August 1Matthew 18:3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change
and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
Today we praise the Lord for all of our students, past present and future! We claim them as our own in our dance family. We hope to learn from our students this year and remember each class that the Lord values child like faith. Please Lord, bless our students and help us remember that they are the future.
Tuesday, August 2Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Today we pray specifically for peace of mind and calmness of spirit. Help us to trust the Lord to provide for our needs, financially, creatively, intellectually and in all the areas we require help. Help us to remember to present our needs to Lord openly and honestly and clear our minds of needless worry. Help us to leave our burdens for the Lord to take care of and not snatch them right back.
Wednesday, August 3Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Today we pray for the upcoming recital and Disney performance, that they would be a blessing to everyone involved. That planning these shows would go smoothly and done with confidence that we are doing what the Lord wants us to do! Help this to be our best recital yet, with good technique, good sets, good costumes, good choreography and a well rounded look to the recital and Disney show. Help us remember the Lord is directing our path and our steps along that path.
Thursday, August 4Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Today we pray for the interactions of our students with each other. Help them to celebrate each others and not begrudge other students' success. Help our students learn from each other and not be angry and gossip. Protect our students hearts and minds in class and help them work together as a team.
Friday, August 5Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD...
Today we pray for health and strength in our dancers and staff member's bodies. Help protect us from injury and illness, rest when our bodies require it and fuel ourselves with healthy food. Help our students tumble and dance wisely and safely.
Saturday, August 6Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Today we pray that our studio will multiply and be blessed with students who desire to learn and want to have fun while dancing. We pray that our dreams would be made a reality this year as we trust in the Lord to guide our path. Again we pray humbly and openly for freedom from worry and the ability to rely fully on the studio to provide our needs.
Sunday, August 7John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Today we pray for the dance year as a whole, covering the year in love and blessings, asking the Lord to look after us. We guard our hearts and our tongues, wishing to be a blessing to each other and those we encounter through the studio. Help us be an example of modesty, integrity, creativity and loyalty. We rest in the promises of the Lord and open our hearts and minds for the best year yet.
Monday, August 8Galatians 1:10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God.
If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
Finally we pray that God will bless us with opportunities to teach and reach out to students all across our area. Help us expand our territory and bless us with students who need and want the friendship, kindness and laughter we can provide. We dedicate this year to the will of the Lord. AMEN!
If you can join me in these simple prayer requests, I'd be so grateful. I'm trying not to worry, but I always do and I want to change!
