Mondays with the Mouse

Hi, my name is Kate and I'm a Disney-aholic.

For real you guys? I'm addicted to all things Disney. The music, the movies, the parks, the history. I have such admiration and respect for Walt Disney as a humanitarian and visionary. This year our dance recital is Disney themed and I'm taking 22 students and their families (80 people total!!) to Disney World for a 4 night, 5 day performance and workshop trip. Because of this deep obsession love for all things Disney, I've decided to dedicate Monday to all things Mouse related. (Most Mondays, anyways! :))

Countdown until our next trip: 248 days!

This week I want to talk about one of my favorite rides at Disney World. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the world who loves this ride, but MAN I LOVE IT.
The Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, Disney World

This ride was originally designed by Walt Disney himself for the 1964's World's Fair in New York. According to Wikipedia, "The Carousel of Progress holds the record as the longest-running stage show, with the most performances, in the history of American theater. It is the oldest Disney-built attraction not only in the Magic Kingdom, but the entire Walt Disney World Resort. It is the only attraction in Walt Disney World to have a direct physical tie to Walt Disney."

The Carousel of Progress is an animatronic stage show that takes viewers on a journey through the progress of invention over history. Viewers sit in an "auditorium" that slowly rotates to each stage in history represented. It's rather humorous when you get to "the future" to see what Disney though things would be like in this day and age. It has a fantastic theme song (that Dave HAAAATES) that I sing all the time. I love it because it's so true. There really is a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day!

If you are so inclined, that's the entire show up there. (HA!) It's 21 minutes long, but if you skip forward until around 1:30 minute or so, you get a good idea of the song I love so much. Go ahead and tease me, everyone does. :)
How about you? Ever been to Disney World of Disney Land? What's your favorite ride?

Haha I noticed the obsession on Pinterest yesterday! ;)

I went to Disney World my senior year and I really want us to take McK soon! Michael took her about five years ago, but I want to go with her! :)
